Well, I certainly have a warm spot for the Double Cutaway Les Paul Specials… For me they were always very much a work horse guitar.. you know, the guitar you bring to rehearsals… and this is the 3rd one I have owned… My

first being a Hammer in the 80’s, the second (which I still have) is an Epiphone single P-90 version that I used as the base of the second HELLCAT and that is a beast!  Having said that it spurred me  to start to look at the

original Gibson Double Cutaway.   Well, as you probably already know, the very cool vintage guitars are very expensive!  Then I saw the new 2015 models and was intrigued.  The features are many and the price was

reasonable.  I purchased this Gorgeous  Vintage Burst model…. I was first struck by the light weight and the wide, thin-tapered neck..  I replaced the G-Force tuning mechanizium as I am old school and try to keep it simple.  I

also replaced the Pickups with a Set of Lindy Fralin P-90s with a Hum-cancelling P-90 in the bridge position and added a Bigsby Tremolo.   I invite you to look at the photos and see for yourself.
